Now to try and figure out how to recover from this. I have a few day old backups of the system, but I dumped quite a few movies that I ripped yesterday on them along with all of my updated tax information.
If I pull all of the drives and power it back up like the documentation says, it want's to reinitialize the drives and blow away all the data that's on them. I've powered it back on and now the 204rs won't boot up with the drives in it. For some reason, when I got home today the UPS to the 204rs was powered off. Unfortunately, by doing this I had to rescan my entire library again. It took a bit for plex to get initialized, but it came back up and running like normal. Then under /volume1 I deleted the entire plex folder and subfolders from the system and then reinstalled a fresh copy of plex. I had previously enabled ssh to access the shell of the system.
Then I uninstalled plex from App Central. I created an additional copy of my plex folder just in case. I was able to see the plex server contents for a few seconds and then I would get something when wrong error. I did several R&Rs of plex through App Central. Option 1 and 2 have some minor security issues so option 3 is probably the best.Just to give an update from yesterday. Add group debian-transmission to and -finally- start the deamon again.
Edit /etc/transmission-daemon/settings.json likewise. Set ownership of those directories to debian-transmission:debian-transmission.
